"It sounds so simple, but if you just be yourself, you're different than anyone else"
-Tony Bennett
A Little About Me
Some of the key points...
I’m a Talent Buyer and COO of The State Theatre, a live music venue in Northern Virginia. I work with bands and comedians, and their respective managers and agents to book a variety of touring acts. Although I’m most proficient in negotiating deals, sifting through contracts, and creating graphic design work, the real fun of my job begins at night, when the crowds start coming in and the band starts playing. After over a decade in my job, my main motivator remains bringing that unforgettable experience of seeing a favorite band live to as many people as possible.
I hold a BA in International Relations with an emphasis on U.S. Foreign Policy from Scripps College in Claremont, California, and am currently pursuing an MBA at Johns Hopkins Carey Business School.

But why does that matter...
My life of amazing travel and exploration led up to my current career, but not before trying out many others. My experiences in Eastern and Western Europe, Africa, South America and the United States brought me through neighborhoods so completely different from each other. Visiting countries and experiencing in different cultures, races, traditions, religions, and economies gave me an interesting perspective growing up. Working with CityLab, I approached Ivy City with this perspective and drew on my experiences, and my knowledge of urban planning, to analyze and assess the needs of this growing neighborhood.
